Summary
According to the legend Balor, at the head of a Fomoran horde, stormed Dagda's kingdom in search of revenge versus the Tuatha de Danaan, the gods of light, that in past banished them. During the first battle Balor managed to strike Dagda with a bolt of negative energy affecting him with a curse that, eventually, will lead the king to his death. Nuada, the king's son, tried to protect him but Balor stroke with his powerful two handed sword, severing Nuada's right arm. Before Balor could strike again, Morrigan leading the charge of her berserkers and amazons, shoot Balor in the left eye with an arrow. Unfortunately, for the Tuatha de Danaan and their kingdom the battle was lost. Balor sat for seven time seven years on the throne, in this time he created an eye patch with a big ruby imbued with his own life force, that would allow him to see and to tap into the negative plan to cast deadly spells. He controlled the kingdom with iron fist, striking terror in the hearts of the population although hope wasn't lost. Dian Cecht, master of healers, implanted a magical silver arm with wards etched upon, forged by Lugh and his three sons, to Nuada. Nuada silver arm, then led the army, with his sisters Morrigan and Be Chuille, to reconquest the kingdom of his father. The two leaders of the opposed armies faced and Balor invoked the power of his magical eye in the attempt to kill Nuada, this time for good, but a magic aura of light engulfed the knight repelling the spell toward the giant. Noticing the Fomorn's Lord hesitation, Be Chuille evoked a powerful lightning bolt that hit the Fomor in the chest. After their leader's demise the other Fomorn routed, while Morrigan's berserkers and amazons gave chase, many Fomorn died that night.
