When you see Quill's Carriage of Lore, you know it's storytime.
Menkh Quill travels the world enthralling children and adults alike with his brilliant storytelling. Just seeing Quill's Carriage of Lore fills people with anticipation for a good story.
Quill travels the world seeking new stories wherever he goes. He's doesn't invent his own stories, instead, he gathers them from people around the world, especially fairytales, poems, and folklore.
Being close to 700 years old, Quill has gathered many stories over the years, all written into huge compendiums found inside Quill's Carriage of Lore.
Being a brilliant storyteller, Quill started to entertain and enthrall people with his stories wherever he came, earning him coin and renown. Eventually, he had enough to buy a worn down one-horse carriage, with just enough space for him to sleep and a small storage compartment for his books.
He spent most of the small fortune he had amassed over the years to completely redesign the carriage. For him, it was home, but not just that. It was a place that kept all his stories safe. It was a library.
Quill decided to turn it into both. He decorated the interior as a library, and built the exterior as a house, essentially making the carriage a small house on wheels.
The entrance to the carriage sat on the side, resembling the front door of a house, with two small windows next to it, on both sides. The roof was a triangular thatched roof with a small attic window sticking out of the side. From inside this was a small loft where he could sleep.
At the far end of the roof, there was a fake chimney, giving it a more homely look. From the inside, the chimney was an extra compartment for storage, as it was necessary to utilize as much space as possible.
One final touch was added to the outside next to the door. A small wooden sign with the words 'Quill's Carriage of Lore' burnt into it.
The carriage won't stop until it is at the center of the village, at which point Quill will emerge from the front door of his house, usually carrying a big book under one arm, and a stool in the other.
He always has a huge smile on his face, nodding to every single one in the crowd, while preparing his stool and book to tell a new and exciting fairytale from a faraway place.
Quill's Carriage of Lore stays for exactly one week, with many sessions of storytelling and poem reading. The villagers will also get a chance to tell their stories, taking pleasure in knowing that Quill will travel to other faraway places and share their stories there.
