Personal history

Reidar was born to a smelter worker and an ore processor on Moonfall, second of two children. Though the family could not afford to send him to grammar school, the boy earned enough wage as a newspaper boy to send himself, which he did from 5316 to 5320. He earned good marks, and was awarded a position as a jeweler’s apprentice upon graduation. By 5325 the apprentice jeweler had taken over most dealings of the shop as the master jeweler’s eyes had begun to fail. Reidar’s moment came when the master jeweler was called upon by the palace to craft a wedding tiara for the scion’s betrothed. Reidar filled in for the mostly blind man and according to witness accounts, did such a good job that the man was offered a job procuring stones and jewels for the palace. Reidar reportedly struggled with the decision to take over his master’s business to enter the employ of House Jenet, but eventually chose the Jenets, and was assigned to the JNS Thoroughbred Mule.

Employment

The JNS Thoroughbred Mule was out of port during the Sundering. While it is reported most of the Mule’s crew abandoned the ship, Reidar did not. The Mule wandered through northern Maxdell and Southern Ranet for the better part of a year, making money smuggling, until they made contact with the greater Jenet fleet in Ranet space in late 5331. The Mule was seized in a military action by Maxell, but the crew was able to abscond, and they are now believed to be sheltering on the JNS Mistress of Guile.
