Winch-Class Corvette
The Winch-Class is a 18 gun Corvette.
She is built to a standard frame with a thin hull plating on top of a lightly reinforced frame. The Winch-Class consists of a central span housing the command deck, primary systems, cargo bay, and engines. Attached is a single habitat ring containing officer and spacer berthing.
She's equipped with a powerful broadside but lacks any forward armament, given her role as escort she is meant to place herself between the her foe and her charges while blocking any attempt to approach.
The Winch-Class is capable of berthing a crew of 48 crewmen, 3 officers, a captain and another 20 marines.
During acceleration the Winch-Class is able to output up to 2 Gs of force allowing for a rapid deployment.
