Dead Tree Dunes
Many a bedtime tale to warn children not to wander off at night involves the Dead Tree Dunes. They say that the everlasting howling wind that blows from the east is created by a group of demons. Frightening monstrosities who use magic of fire and thunder to destroy their enemies. And they will take you and eat you when they find you trespassing in their lands.
As it name implies, the landscape is a sea of hills, with patches of brown and grey grass. The dead trees stand as a warning, this is not a pleasant place. The hills are dotted with the corpses and remains of dead people and other creatures, who's bones are unfamiliar.
At the edge of the Dunes stands a weathered sign:
You will only find Misery at the end of this road. Turn back.
Geography
The terrain is a mostly rocky area covered in sand. The sand has a reddish hue. The almost constant wind coming in from the east, carries quite a bit of sand with it. Over time the Dead Sea Dunes will probably grow.
Ecosystem
At first glance not much seems to grow and live here. But the seemingly dead grass is quite alive with several small scavenger animals. Small rodents and lizards searching for scraps of food. Small caves on the western side of the hills provide a bit of shelter for lichen and fungi to grow.
Localized Phenomena
There is an everlasting wind coming in from the east.
Fauna & Flora
A few dead trees dot the landscape, they're mostly located on the top of the more pronouced rocks.

Before the Warp in the East, the Dead Tree Dunes was a pleasant valley of hills. With many farmers tending their crops and feeding their livestock.
Tourism
No one in their right mind would visit this place freely, the lands beyond the hills are dangerous.
