Tambu's Trauma Hall
Tabmbu's Trauma Hall is a hospital in Soapstone Halls. It specializes in the treatment of patients suffering from injuries they have suffered while working in the Suffocation Mines.
Some of the dwarves who have studied at the Granite Town University will continue end up working at the hospital.
Purpose / Function
The hospital is specialized in treating patients that have chemical burns from working in the nearby mines. Sometimes the workers inhale toxic fumes or get acid / caustic fluids over them. The hospital has specialized wards to treat each patient with the care that they need. Some of the wards are heavily guarded, and access is limited due to a difference in pressure. Which is needed for some of the patients suffering from lung injuries.
Alterations
With the expansion of the mines, so too had the hospital be expanded. An entire wing, dedicated to the workers who died on the job is one of the last additions to the expansive building.
Architecture
The buildings in the soapstone halls are mostly hewn out. The soapstone is then polished to give it a smooth surface. As like much of the other dwarven halls and buildings, it has a utilitarian type of architecture, keeping the amount of embellishments to a minimum. The facade of the hospital however, has been carved to depict the loving embrace of Bolmaris.
History
The hospital is named after Tambu of clan Zuuzbek. He was a dwarven doctor who proved that washing his instruments with the diluted liquids from the nearby lakes would improve the survival rates of his patients. In honour of his dedication to the healing arts.
Tourism
Access to the hospital for anything else but the purpose of getting treatment is strictly regulated. Only patients who are on the recovery wards can get visitors. Tourism solely for the purpose of entertainment is out of the question.
