Stelavorn Admiralty Building

The Stelavorn Admiralty Building is located in Liraj A'Talvo city on the island of the same name. Like most currently used structures on Liraj A'Talvo, the building is a refurbished and repurposed ruin. It houses the admiralty and their staff.   Notable features of the building include:
  • An ancient magical climate control system that keeps the structure comfortable inside, regardless of the season. This is especially welcome during the hot, humid summers in the Shengalvan Archipelago.
  • A magic map of the archipelago that is updated as explorers and diplomats add new information.
  • A teleportation circle that reaches back to the Gray Fastness, the central headquarters for the Stelavorn military.
Physically-speaking, the building is constructed from the same beautiful blue stone as most of the old buildings on Liraj A'Talvo. The layout is open with wide doorways and windows large rooms, and wide hallways. It is not particularly fortified, but it is well-defended, and the constant coming and going of explorer-privateers and naval officers from the Stelavorn Navy make it a place where starting trouble is not advisable.   Admiral Abad Zarim and his granddaughter Amaya operate the Explorer-Privateer program out of the war room around the map of the archipelago.

History

The Admiralty Building used to be a semi-enclosed marketplace in old Liraj A'Talvo. It fell to ruin, if it can be called that, with the eruption of "Old Venomstack," the volcano at the center of the island. Though the eruption didn't cause much in the way of physical damage, it spewed an enormous amount of poisonous, heavier-than-air gas down into the city and the overwhelming majority of the residents perished from the toxic fumes. Centuries later, the city was discovered empty and nearly intact by some of the first explorers from Stelavorn and it was resettled.
