Chulweyné
The lush, deep Jungles of Chulweyné are teeming with life. It's an old, vibrant country with a culture that celebrates life and light, even outside of any particular deity of Southern Pantheon.
However, its jungles also hold many dangers. Yuan-ti cultists, willy rakshasa, bellowing girallons, hungry ghosts, and massive behemoths from the beginning of Zameen occupy the depths of the subcontinent.
The capital of Chulweyné is Yarghul. Other prominent settlements are Qandamazar, Thinmado, and Ranhama. All the humanoid population of the country is concentrated near water, whether the long river that snakes through the majority of the jungles or on its coastlines. This river acts as the lifeblood of Chulweyné, playing a crucial part of their culture.
Color also plays an important role in Chulweynian society. The people all wear a variety of colors. Only the richest among them choose to wear pure white clothing to show off their wealth and privilege. Humans of the region are known by the same name as the overall culture, Chulweynian. Various other humanoid races, such as elves, half-elves, orcs, and halflings are also fairly common. A regional language called Chulep is spoken throughout the country.
A system of indentured servitude is common practice in Chulweyné. Those who are convicted of a crime are given the choice to serve their sentence in prison or to enter a period servitude, either to those they have wronged or to the state, lasting half the time of their prison sentence.
