Ink

Using ink is an allowed technology, but creation of ink via technological means is forbidden. Writing with non-technological ink (e.g., berry juice, blood) or magically created ink is acceptable.   Creation of ink via technology is not necessary due to the ease of lower-quality non-technological inks and ease and low-cost of magically created ink. However, writing records and notes is important for people generally, so the use of ink is always allowed.   The mechanism used to apply ink to paper (or other surface) must be simple: a quill pen, a brush, stamps, or even a finger. More advanced methods (the printing press, self-inking pens, and so on) would be forbidden under the Guines Edict, were they invented at the time.
