4 years younger than her older sister, Janna Wilder, Laurite and Janna meet Elina Bucknight in 453. Their father is a secret scientist, and they both followed in his footsteps.
Laurite is a quiet, introverted girl excited at new ideas and has a deep interest in physics. Magic and its iteraction with the world is one of her special interests. The inability to closely observe magic frustrates her, but due to her interoverted nature she keeps these frustrations to herself.
In school, she had few friends, with her only close friend before meeting Elina being her sister. A few classmates her own age would meet her for study sessions, but she was seldom included in more social activities. After leaving school with her sister in 455, she most often could be found curled up with a notebook and paper in some small alcove. The paper was rarely used, however, with most of her thoughts and notes contained entirely within her head.
