Chapter 2, the Battle of Herebena

The Begining of the End

Prufira's Research: The tent is a mess of ropes along the walls, sheets of unfurled scrolls reveal research diagrams. Images of dragons with anatomical breakdowns on one wall sit next to rune circles in varying states of organization, many holes in them. Images of the temple and rows of text line the far wall. The last wall has letters from scholars and shelves of books covered in notes. three mages sit at desks scribbling and eyeing tombs. Prufira meditates in the center of the room, a orange sheen of energy flows like water across his skin. (Completed with Diamond quest)

Mefen:

Prufira was kicked from Amopule and stripped of his many titles unofficially after meddling in other Burgeond affairs. He says he left something on a ship in Mefen with a woman named Bahiti. Use my title if you must go speak to her. She made me a poison I will need once more. It is slow acting and impossible to catch. I have tested it once in a favor for her. Prufira used this on Naunets uncle to cut her ties to the Burgeond and to begin stamping out the Sigh monks who go against Ficium Faith.  

Traveling to Mefen

1 An Arcab predator sails into view. It tries to hunt the Arcab and bring it to its nest.
2 The river vibrates and the sand undulates a dune sinks into the earth.
3 A body floats down the river towards the boat. It is the corpse of a naked man. His jaw is shattered, head backward, and right cheek obliterated. If revived he tells of the brothels.
4 You see a town smoking far to your north. Sigh attack.
5 In the reeds to your south a boat is parked, barely peeking from the tall cattails. A merchant sells his desert food and drink. He knows greatly of Bahiti.
6 A wide ship full of scholars floats down the river. A complex mechanism of cogs and wires pulls at a set of legs that paddle at the water, the legs paddle all at once and make the boat jerk awkwardly. A few scholars are seasick on the placid river due to this. If only they had an egg beater drill. A DC 15 investigation check can improve it greatly for them. They will give a scroll of recommendations to anyone who helps.
7 A gorgeous woman paddles down the river on a single passenger ship. She has a large blunderbuss on her back and wields it proficiently. She is good friends with Bahiti.
8 The Worm sends a vision of a woman. Behind her, you see a building with painted waves. (She is granulated under Bahiti's care who will help them, soft spot for adventurers.)
9 A Burgeond skyship flies over and stops to check out the players. The skyship is headed to the western outpost to check on its mining status. The Burgeond within is a recluse serial meditator. They will give the players a lift if asked. In exchange, the players will help at the outpost with a mining monster.
10 Rolls twice and they both happen.   In Mefen. Shop n shit. Bahiti hold her poisons in her room. Goal: She wants them to bring a ship back for her, protecting it. Give it to Prufira. The ship will hold spies for her. The ship absorbs water and steams it into the air to move. Drying everything around it.

Future Quests

Begining the construction. All the dragon art has been torn down except for that which regards black dragon remains. Art of a Greatwyrm surrounds it and many notes, some in draconic. A magic circle is being drawn on a new stone floor with chalk, many layers of erasure can be seen. Small piles of chalk dust are near the edges of the tent.
Quest: Capture Wyrmling   Construction moved: to the town square and two dozen guards stand by at all times. Six monks stand on rooftops as well surveying the area.
Quest: Dark seed. A near-extinct plant he has one of. Sen has it. But Prufira wants to consume it to ascend to dragon hood. It is in VincVinc.
  The Circle Almost Complete: A huge three-layered rune circle sits in the center of town. On the outside sits a circle of platinum-colored chalk. The second circle is a rainbow of green, white, black, blue, and red. The last circle is a deep ruby red. A tiny circle of gold just big enough to stand inlays in the center of all. Three dozen guards stand stalk still about it. Some even facing in towards it. A dozen monks patrol the rooftops.
Quest: Kill Turnstile   Completing it: The circles glow and the items you have brought him lay cut up and rested on podiums about the circle. The golden circle in the middle is now two interwoven circles. Quest: get fucked by Prufira. Prufira proceeds to pull Zeria out da the crystal and pop the players in. DC 15 Con save or be moved inside. Prufira then ejects the crystal into the river. See yea nerds. People inside are in a alternate world where the destroyer never came. They sit on an island in a vast ocean. Fins dig at the waters around them.
You can get them out if you can find that tiny thing. Prufira diengages and heads to ritual.  

Prufiras Tower (End of Herebena)

Prufira Line: You buzz buzz buzz, all the time. I hear those rocks in your very blood. You carry that mass of gods within you. I will purge you as I have all the others who come here trying to bring power beyond their understanding here. What the temple gives, it will take.
The Ritual Rounds
  1. The circles all pulse and dim. The outer platinum circle buzzes and begins to rise from the ground. Zeria's circle flashes and a translucent cage forms around her.
  2. The platinum circle stabilizes a foot into the air and begins to spin with a dull drumbeat beginning in the air.
  3. The platinum circle halts and creates a one-foot magical hurdle. The Rainbow circle lets out a wave of bass and buzzes.
  4. The rainbow circle rises into the air. Zeira yelps. and her heart glows. Her golden circle glows and golden lines wisp up from the borders towards her.
  5. The rainbow circle begins to stabilize three feet into the air and begins to spin with another pulse of bass echoing out from it. Creating a magical hurdle.
  6. The ruby circles begin to hover into the air and a wave of reflections appear in the air. A sea of reality appears. You see many squares, all with different rituals and people in them.
  7. The ruby circles let out another crackle and halt six feet in the air, creating a magical wall.
  8. Prufira moves to get into the center golden circle. If he ends a turn their a golden umbilical cord of light attaches itself to him. The debris passes through the light without affecting it at all.
  9. (3 rounds) Orbs of energy appear randomly within one hundred feet of the circles and begin rotating in orbits. A monk is hit with a platinum one and his wounds close. Dc 10 dex save to dodge an orb that you start your turn in. Each circle is either platinum, rainbow mesh, or ruby. A platinum orb heals for 10hp. A rainbow orb explodes with a random dragon breath, and a ruby orb switches the player with another world's version of themself.
  10. (3 rounds) Arcs of power rush the circle in straight lines and leave glowing fissures behind them. DC 15 Dex save or take 10 lighting damage.
  11. (3 rounds) Shockwaves pulse from the circle like heartbeats. DC 15 Con save or be knocked prone.
  12. The platinum circle slams into the ground and fades. Prufira roars and Zerias skin dims. His skin turns to a deep black like the void of space.
  13. The chromatic circle slams into the ground and fades. A shockwave blows outward. DC 20 Dex save or be knocked prone and backward ten feet from the circle.
  14. The ruby circle shatters in the air. All players make a DC 10 Charisma saving throw, if they fail they are switched with an alternate reality version of themself.
    Prufira is dragged towards the center. He yells, No! It was all going according to plan!
  15. Prufira is snapped into the center against his will and he screams. A maw of darkness exploded from the ground. His eyes glaze over and his screaming stops.
    Ah, I see.
The egg has AC 22, HP 100, and a damage minimum of 20. It will hatch in three days. During those three days, long tendrils of rot spread from it. A DC 15 con save must be made whenever you start your turn within fifty feet of the egg or the character pukes and becomes poisoned for an hour after they leave the egg's aura.
Hatching the egg will birth an ancient black dragon with the soul of Prufira. He will lay waste to the town and capture the three mages who helped him ascend. He will allow his monks onto his back and then travel north to conquer the Sigh and create a new army. His goal is to capture the Hourglass and do the Inversion ritual on himself as a dragon.

Prologue

People need a place to live that old oasis Surviving soldiers wish to join. and Seventy-five townspeople will go with you rather than journey to the next city. Burgeond learns of the event and so does Cherloa. A blue Dragonborn and granulated one are sent to scout. The Dragonborn wants to find the party to recruit them while the granulated one will see if a response is needed. He will bring the players to court if able.
