Shangqing Mao Shan School
Shangqing Mao Shan School on Mao Shan (mountain) near Nanjing, China is a magical academy. Students are taught passive magic from the ages of 7 to 14, then active magic from 14 to 21. James Potter attended Shangqing as a child before transferring to Hogwarts in 1856.
History
The first leader of the sect was Lady Wei Huacun (251-334). After her death, her teachings were transcribed by Yang Xi (330-386), who expended the sect into a school. It is the oldest surviving magical school, but the youngest of the "ancient" magical schools after the Greek school in Troy, Persian school in Babylon, Egyptian school in Alexandria, and Roman school in Florence.
