Shaded Woods

A dismal and dreary jungle, this horrible place is infest by large predators and a horrible poisonous air that pervades through the whole island. Due to the many terrible tales and rumors about this place, even adventurers are loathe to trek into the canopy that conceals them, and the jungle has remained unexplored for hundreds of years.

Geography

Located on a volcanic island that has been dormant for thousands of years, this jungle has fully taken over the mountainside as well as the surrounding areas. Growing all the way up the sides of the volcano, it is hard to tell until one begins to approach from the outside that it was ever there at all and not just a cluster of trees.

Climate

Generally the air is warm and humid, though it is frequented by magical storms that blanket the area in torrential rain. Prone to flooding, the water runs its way down the sides of the central mountain and out, washing away to the sea.
