Essta
Essta is a small farming town near the capital of Falzeno. Acting as a hub for the farming communities nearby. The small town is poor, and sees very little trade outside farmers depositing goods at the numerous granaries. The town's main industry its export of farming goods and its numerous large bakeries and donkey driven mills. The town has a traditional style to it, and the locals aren't always too welcoming of people that come to stick around.
Demographics
Government
The town is run by a count, who generally holds minimal actual power and oversees basic administration and protection. Besides that, there is a town council where the general population can meet to air greivences and propose policy, but these have been indefinitely postponed for the last seven years.
Defences
The town has no walls, there used to be an defensive palisade but this has largely gone now due to bandit raids and ineffecient management of the town by the noblity.
Industry & Trade
The town largely imports its grains and goods from the surrounding farmland, where it stores or refines the produce and ships it to Porto Alto or Falzeno. Mainly a place for external companies to base warehouses and storerooms for shipping.
Infrastructure
The town has minimal infrastructure outside of the main road that runs betwen Porto Alto and Falzeno. The town centre is dominated by the market square, a once beautiful traditional plaza with a statue of an old legionnary on a column and a well mainted well, the Piazza Legio has seen better days. There are plenty of manuel mills around, but the inner town roads are poorly maintained and underlit at night time.
The main industrial buildings of the town are the large traditional manual mills and the large wheat filled granaries. These are built in the traditional style out of brick and plaster, and are usually painted over with patterns and bright colours.
Assets
The town has four inns, two churchs, one small fortied castle, a town hall, a stablehouse, an alchemists, three bakeries, two butchers, two blacksmiths, and a general goods shop.
Guilds and Factions
The Goblin Syndicate: Currently the domiant gang in the town
The Farmer's Guild: A loose coalition of farmers
Libradores: A group of political extremists who are basing a coup within the town.
Geography
The town is on large lowlands, with no surface water source. It is traditionally very warm and dry all year round, but irrigation and run off from further hillands mean the ground further out from the town is incredibly fertile. The village has a small pond of water from a deep underground source and a grove next to it, with rumours it is haunted.
