Gravelbraids

The Gravelbraids were an old Dwarven guild that held dominion over what would become northern Esma. They controlled the entire mountain range and most of the surrounding foothills. Most Dwarves in Esma can trace their lineage back to members of the Gravelbraids. The Gravelbraids were also exceptional craftsmen, creating mechanical and arcane contraption to service their every need. They experienced a strong population surge and had to begin cutting trees from further and further outside of their territory in order to keep their needs met. One such tree was the Baduhenna, a tree that was sacred to an elven guild known as Serenity. Surprisingly, the elves eventually forgave this trespass and maintained peace. However, for reasons now lost to history, the Gravelbraids later murdered Alloralla Heilar, the leader of Serenity , while she was in their territory on a diplomatic mission. This led to a war which eventually brought both guilds to ruin.
