The Otherworld Conspiracy - Revelations

On Samana Cay Zoetrope has finally finished the massive amounts of tests that Overlord has been doing. He comes to the conclusion that Zoetrope Alexandria & Alexander 's powers have been changing, not just minor changes, but sometimes involving actual shifts of things between dimensions. Their powers are evolving and growing. After the final test, Zoe tries to contact the group but is unable to reach them. The last tracker trace they have is going through the Otherworld portal in Central Park. Arriving there, they find that the portal system has been shut down on the Otherworld side. Thinking quickly, Zoe heads to the Circle, The where they meet La Bruja. The portal from the Circle, The to Otherworld still seems to be working so Zoetrope goes through that and is transported to their destination.

They quickly find out that Angel Of Decay is nearby and has created a riot of angry commuters and residents. The guards are trying to manage the crowds as they push their way towards the castle. Zoetrope is brought up to speed that Merlinia and Captain America II have been arrested and are being held in the dungeon. Zoetrope and Angel contact the other heroes to devise a plan.

Hope Rogers, Cady Heron and Asra Cortez, a.k.a. Archer, Plastiq and Dark Hawk along with Bordek, are escorted by Dracis, a wizard who is the voice of the Council of Dragons, to the Council chambers. Hope asks for the Dragon's assistance in getting to a portal back to Earth. However, after talking with Zoetrope and Angel a plan is created for rescuing Merlinia and Captain America. Hope asks for a diplomat from the Dragonlands to go to Camelot to verify that Mer and Cap are being treated well. While the Dragon Council is hesitant, someone appears and offers her services as a diplomat: the Gray Queen. With a magical flare, the Gray Queen creates a portal to the castle court in Camelot and the heroes step through. They are met by a new captain of the guard and are escorted to the throne room.

In the meantime, Angel and Zoetrope come up with a plan to get into the dungeon and rescue the two veteran heroes. They make themselves over with illusions to appear as kitchen staff and are actually able to sneak into the castle that way. They take trays from the kitchen and head down to the dungeon to "make sure the prisoners have been fed". Using their abilities, they get past the guard and meet with Mer and Cap. Zoetrope manages the lock to let the heroes out. Zoe and Angel turn invisible while Mer and Cap disguise themselves as servants returning to the kitchen.

In the throne room, Hope, Dark Hawk and Plastiq along with the Gray Queen, meet with Arthur to discuss the recent events. However, the talks turn sour when Merlin appears and demands that the heroes surrender or their friends will suffer the consequences. He produces a crystal ball that seems to show Dark Hawk's sister and Janis Ian bound and gagged. Hope shoots the ball with a special arrow, hoping to free the King and Queen from whatever spell they are underl. Unfortunately it doesn't work and Merlin orders the guards to attack. Soon, Cap and Mer arrive to assist and the battle is joined. The guards are taken care of quickly and with the Gray Queen's help, after Platiq made certain he couldn't cast any spells, Merlin is defeated and the King and Queen are freed from his influence.

Under questioning, Merlin reveals that he is actually from a different reality and that he encountered the Merlin from Otherworld on the Astral Plane. This Merlin tricked the original and was able to seal him away in a crystal and set adrift in the Astral Sea. This other Merlin took on the role of the original and began plotting his takeover of Otherworld and Earth. He created the disk and tricked the Red Skull into believing it would give him ultimate power. The disk was designed to concentrate all the ambient mystic energy it could then suddenly release it to convert the entire Earth into a mystical world that could be annexed by Otherworld. The Merlin doppelganger is taken away to prison.

King Arthur is very impressed and grateful to the heroes and Mer and Cap also praise the young heroes. The Gray Queen departs back to the Fae Lands.
