Archer, Angel, Eddie, Hope, Plastiq and Zoetrope meet at Ground Central Station for a study session. While he was invited, Asra (Dark Hawk) has not shown up and is not answering texts or phone calls. When the heroes spot Kurian, who is seemingly looking for Asra, they find out that they were supposed to have a study date but he hasn't shown up and she hasn't been able to get in touch with him. Using the phone locator, it seems to show that he is in the science building well after hours. Calling Dr. Doshi, they find out he met with her earlier in the day but she hadn't seen him since and he did not mention anything about using the lab. The heroes decide to go find Asra with Kurian stating she'll go too. Dr. Doshi tells them she will meet them at the lab.
As the heroes near campus, they hear sirens and can see a very bright blue light coming from the third floor of the science building where Dr. Doshi's lab is. The heroes rush in, followed by Kurian and Dr. Doshi. They are nearly blinded by the light emanating from the lab. As they enter the lab, the light diminishes and fades out. They find Asra's notes nearby and Dr. Doshi determines that her dimensional portal has been set using the coordinate and figures from Asra's notes. She also determines that the system's components are nearing their use lifespan and may only be able to be used for a short period of time until they need to be replaced; a timely and costly endeavor. The heroes decide to risk Angel's pet with a Go Pro through the portal. Upon its return, they see a bleak landscape with a massive building hovering above the terrain. Deciding to take a risk, the heroes decide to go through with Dr. Doshi having instructions to reopen the portal in exactly 6 hours. Archer also makes arrangements for other contingencies "just in case".
Shortly after arriving on a planetoid that is visually reminiscent of our own moon, with the exception of a breathable atmosphere and a small amount of scrub vegetation. The massive building they saw on the Go Pro is even more impressive. It hovers above the ground and is in the shape of a manifold that folds in on itself and rotates within its own form.
Before the heroes can explore and look for their friend, a giant, highly sophisticated robot appears and warns them that they are trespassing, and they have 15 seconds to return to their original dimension. The robot doesn't seem willing to listen to any explanations and summons four smaller robots who are tasked with capturing the intruders. The heroes put up a good fight, but the large blue robot deploys a circular device that knocks the heroes out.
Meanwhile, inside the facility, Asra wakes up to the sound of a very annoying woman telling him to wake up. He finds himself in a cell and most of his powers don't work. The woman yelling is in the cell next to him. She seems happy that there is a new "friend". Dark Hawk tries to get some information from the woman, but she in only able to provide a little and seems extremely scatterbrained. A moment later, there is a buzzing sound and "Scatterbrain" gleefully announces that more new "friends" have arrived. Dark Hawk soon discovers that the new arrivals are members of the team. He explains that he thought he had found the coordinates and formulae to create a portal to return home but he actually ended up here.
Soon, a small robot who bears a strong resemblance to Robbie the Robot from "Forbidden Planet" arrives and announces that he is responsible for helping the new arrivals acclimate to their new surroundings. They have been charged with trespassing in a restricted area and could serve a sentence of up to 5 years. With some careful debate, the heroes manage to arrange a meeting with the warden. Soon, they meet the warden of "The Block" (as they find the prison is called) and it is none other than Reed Richards, although this version is very young. He is accompanied by a man in armor and armed with an elaborate "stun stick" The Block was constructed by the superheroes of his Earth, based on his designs, to hold the most powerful villains of his world that could not be held anywhere else. The prison was so successful that the Block's services were offered to other worlds for incarcerating their difficult criminals. The Schizos were arrested because it is illegal to access the pocket dimension in which the Block resides without authorization. It becomes obvious during the conversation that the man in armor, "Lock Up", has little love for super powered individuals feeling they should all be locked up. The heroes manage to make their case that they had not come to break someone out, other than to rescue Dark Hawk, and they finally manage to convince Reed to release them once it's brought to his attention that Hope is the daughter of Merlinia. However, when Reed orders Lock Up to release the heroes, Lock Up jabs Reed with his stun stick, causing Reed to fall into the near infinite space outside of the cells. Dark Hawk dives after him and the heroes manage to free themselves. They take on Lock Up and quickly incarcerate him in one of the cells. His control over the robots is cut off as well as any other access is curtailed by RB-B3.
The heroes are all released, and the charges dropped and Reed promises to make some changes to keep something like this from happening again. Reed also determines the problem Dark Hawk may have had in trying to get back to the Umbral. Umbral, like the dimension the Block is located, was designed as a prison!
The portal reappears exactly 6 hours later and the heroes return to their Earth. Asra apologizes to Kurian and Dr. Doshi. Dean Warner is also there and asks for the heroes to come by his office on the following day.Character(s) interacted with
