Nine members of the Spider's Web were murdered, allegedly by a woman wielding a flaming sword. The men, having been arrested after an altercation with the group of new heroes, had been released on bond only a few minutes before their deaths.

(New York Times News Service) Nine alleged members of the Spider's Web criminal organization were brutally murdered last night just minutes after being released on bond after being arraigned on several charges connected with an incident earlier in the evening in an alley behind the Ground Central Station Cafe. The incident, apparently between the men and the group of young heroes who have been making a name for themselves recently, ended with the arrest of the men and only a small amount of property damage.   The men were killed a few blocks away from the courthouse when the van they were traveling in stopped at an intersection for a red light. While the police have not released any details, eyewitnesses at the scene claim that the attacker was a woman dressed in black, wearing a veil and wielding a flaming sword and a shield. Shots were fired during the altercation and at least one eyewitness claims he saw the attacker was wounded. The witness went on to say that the assailant used her sword to kill the suspected criminals.   Police are asking that anyone with information concerning this crime to contact them.
