The most heinous act of destruction the world had ever seen occurred in July of 1992 when the master villain, Dr. Destroyer, launched a massive supervillain attack on the city of Detroit while a device he created worked to pull a massive asteroid down on the city.

Avengers re-open Hydrobase with a gala event to support various charities. The festivities are interrupted by an attack by VIPER, which is quickly foiled. The base is dedicated to young superhuman training as well as various scientific research activities.

The young heroes receive an invitation, via Hope, to join the Circle. They meet Wanda Maximoff and learn about the magical training group. They are given their first mission; to find the "spectral professor" sighted near Columbia University.
The young heroes stake out the park where the sightings of the "spectral professor" have occurred and encounter her. Professor Spectre, through a strange interaction with Zoetrope's powers, is cured of her affliction of being trapped between dimensions.
The young heroes battle and capture Ililjah Intrepid when he tries to steal Dr. Rishima Doshi's work and possibly kidnap the professor herself. The criminal ends up in the hospital.
The young heroes stop a group of teenagers after they accidentally reanimate the dead in a graveyard. The heroes battle a group of the Spider's thugs who are putting the squeeze on Ground Central Station. Even with the aid of a Baloren warrior, the heroes manage to defeat the thugs. After the thugs are released on bail, they are murdered by a woman wielding a flaming sword.
Nine members of the Spider's Web were murdered, allegedly by a woman wielding a flaming sword. The men, having been arrested after an altercation with the group of new heroes, had been released on bond only a few minutes before their deaths.
