Targak

Charged by Amras to stimulate the other Elemental Magnates during the Fundamental Reckoning, Targak stoked the fires of war on the primordial battlefield that would become Primea. Despite their initial hatred for each other, Targak's siblings quickly learned to fear her destructive powers. Following the war, the once bitter rivals Gulungin and Marthasya joined efforts to smother their sister. With great effort, Targak's worldfires were extinguished and her burning lakes and landscapes were buried deep underground. Before Targak had a chance to push back against her siblings, she was dispatched to the Elemental Plane of Fire by Jiwillian. Targak now eternally burns with a great hatred for her siblings, specifically Gulungin and Marthasya. She feel perceives the Elemental Plane of Fire as a prison unlike her siblings' planes as their influence remains on Primea in the form of the ocean, sky, and land.

WORSHIPPERS

Although all races are found among her faithful, Humans make up the majority of Targak's worshippers. Like an out of control wildfire, Humans have spread quickly and dangerously across Primea's surface despite being among its youngest races, and many of the faithful attribute this to Targak's blessings. While arsonists are extremely common among worshippers, they also strive to free those who are held against their will, whether that prison is a physical one or an emotional one. Followers operate with a 'convert or consume' mindset when interacting with heathens and apostates. They seek to destroy societal constructs as they feel they inhibit the individual or the collective.

SACRED SITES

All temples to Targak are temporary. Constructed from dry branches, tinder, and other kindling, the temples are often single-use in nature and are ignited following the worshippers' congregation in a ceremony known as Cinder Parades. Some temples are filled with personal belongings of followers of Targak that are consumed in the fire in an act of burning away one's previous identity and embracing their new identity of one of Targak's devotees. Only the most devout will cast themselves into the temple's fires to offer themselves wholly to the Burning Babe. Sites of spontaneous wildfires or active volcanoes also hold great reverance amongst worshippers as they represent Targak indignation and rebellion against her bindings.

RESOURCES

While Targak's worshippers lack a centralized authority, those that have survived the act of self-sacrifice during a Cinder Parade are seen with great renown. These individuals are known as Torchbearers and carry the power to intensify flames, making them nearly impossible to extinguish. They are sought out by those that wish to have objects or people completely destroyed. To be consumed by the fires enhanced by a Torchbearer is to be rendered unrecoverable.
