Pyriador
Pyriador, largest of the Ammuran settlements sprawls over a large fortified hill in a flood plain. On the main trail from the coast to the interior (an ancient Nesskian highway) and surrounded by rich farm land the town prospers.
Demographics
Dhari Human featuring a notable half elven bloodline and of course halflings
Government
The Noble Pays or Noble Council governs at the request of the Chief elect (currently Argul Longrunner)
Defences
Upper and lower city are built on earthen ramparts dressed in field stone (rumoured to be strengthened with druid magic). The nearby river can be diverted by a cunning lock system to flood the farmlands surrounding Pyriador, making it an island, in the center of a vast flood plain.
The noble houses of the clan have long halls built in the upper city walls when the (orginal) Upper City was founded.
Industry & Trade
Busy mercantile market place, swaggering moustaches swaying braids parade, haggle and try to avoid stepping on the live stock or in its left overs. Most bronze weapons and armour available here, and if not some of the smiths are skilful enough to work on a commission. All the normal provisions available in hearty rustic form (including component pouches). Hemp rope but not silk, the range of gem stones is almost as impressive as Oakhurst River Market (the Earth Reach Caverns are close) and a wide variety of livestock and exotic wildlife.
