Jonathan Smithson

Jonathan Smithson (JON-a-thun SMITH-sun) is the “Commoner”, or “Townsman”, the leader of the Saltmarsh Town Council. He has no children or apparent immediate family, frequently saying “Saltmarsh is my family”.
Smithson also runs the Saltmarsh Monetary Exchange & Storage. He is the richest man in town, but lives in a fairly simple house on the western shore just outside the walls of Saltmarsh.
