I've been around the world at least twice. Seen NYC, Tokyo, Paris, London, Dubai. Hell, if you can name the city, I probably seen it. But this place, U'liis, not even all 5 cities combined can hold a candle to this place.
They told me I'd suffer in hell, that I'd burn for eternity. Bullshit! I'm living it up here until I die again!

A Short History on Naming

The crown jewel of the Realm of Wrath, the capital city of the Zan'nil kii U'liis, and home to the High Royal Family of Avernus, the city of U'liis is a megalopolis boasting nearly 50 million people.
It is unknown as to the exact date the city was founded, but according to surviving Ancient Records, the city was founded sometime shortly after Zatan'na completed the Realm of Wrath. Historians estimate that this was during the Ancient 2nd Line, sometime between 8.5 billion years ago to 4 billion years ago, making it the oldest city within the entirety of Infernus.
The city itself was not always called U'liis. In fact, in demon time, the name has only been around for a short time. Originally the city was named Zatana'na nal Zanal'krii'tal. Unfortunately, the name's original meaning in either Elder or even modern tongues has been lost. After the Elders took rule of Infernus, the city was renamed to simply Satan'na in honor of the demon Avern'na Satan'na and his existing line to the Ancients.
Shortly after the city was rebuilt after its destruction due to the Infernus Civil war and the formation of a new system of governing, Avern'na Satan'na gave unto the demon Ishniil'miikir U'liis the title of Demon King and allowed him and his family to rule the city and the Zan'nil (which was also named Satan'na at the time). House Satan'na would then begin building of their Royal Palace atop the Yaku'niil Hill, about a mile northeast of the city where it remains today.
Unfortunately, after the 4th Holy War (where year 1 CE then begins), the royal family of U'liis was one of many lines of demons that were wiped out. House Satan'na, in both respect and in memoriam of the great line, decided to rename both the Zan'nil and the city to U'liis in the year 1 CE. The name has remained as such ever since.

Modern Day U'liis

Most of U'liis is modernized, save for the Ancient Districts which are, for the most part, architecturally of either Elder or Ancient design.
U'liis is categorized as a power city that hosts many of the Plane's largest events. The city also boasts the largest subway and commuter mag-rail (maglev, but devils like to call it mag-rail) network within the 7 Realms. As populous as the city is, there is also the very high cost of living, due to the city's attraction as well as its seemingly never ending expansion.
Many renowned attractions within Infernus are found in the city of U'liis, such as the Ba'lu'iis Memorial Park, which itself attracts millions of visitors each year. The city has 60 colleges and universities, two of which are world renowned: Ish'vinkii University located in the district of Upper Westend, and Takriin'kal'miir University, located in the district of Mulniir. The single largest stock exchange by total market capitalization is found within the Financial District, namely the IASDASE (Infernus Association of Securities Dealings and Automated Stock Exchange ).

Greater Districts

U'liis is divided into districts, each with its unique attractions whether of housing, entertainment, or commercial.

Central Business District

The heart and bustling of U'llis, home to the famous Ev'kiiniir Square and towering skyscrapers of almost futuristic architecture. During the day the city is filled with professionals going about their business, and after a long day's of work, the people filling the many bars and restaurants on 1st Main Riverside St.
Although it is the heart of all business within the city, there exists plentiful areas of residency, albeit expensive with a mean cost of living around 1.6 million Ruvah (800,000 USD).

Financial District

Located south of the Central Business District, is the Financial District, where one can find themselves on 7th Main St, a near mile-long street that is bustling with financial institutions. At the heart of 7th Main, the Infernus Association of Securities Dealings and Automated Exchange (IASDASE) can be found, both the largest and oldest stock exchange entity throughout the entirety of Infernus. Only three blocks west of the IASDASE is the 2nd largest Federal Reserve Branch within the Realm of Wrath.
There is only a small amount of residency located within the district, with most residences being luxury high rise condos that can range anywhere between 2.7 million to 142.4 million Ruvah (1.35 million to 71.2 million USD).

Sul'viil Political District

The second oldest district and where reconstruction of U'liis begun following the Infernus Civil War, this is where many of governmental institutions are located, namely the Iniil'shazul Council. The district is also older in appearance; many buildings that were built during the Elder Rule were remodeled with a blend of modern and Elder architecture, giving this district a historical appearance.
Three times a year, every member of the Iniil'shazul Council convene at the Satan'na Building. The building itself is massive, capable of holding every member of the council, as well as two of each council members' personal legion members (usually right and left-hand members, or Chaos Knights and Guardians).
There exists very little residency for non-politicians here due to the nature of the district. Security is also at its heaviest here due to high volume of important figures here, both locally and foreign.

Kal'ralziin Entertainment District

Known for its incredible nightlife, shopping districts, and theaters, the Kal'ralziin Entertainment District is where those looking for a literal hell of a good time go. Everyday, locals and tourists alike gather and crowd the inter-zan'nil and inter-realm restaurants, museums, and various renowned bars on 4th and 5th River Avenues, both short distances from River Renva'azun.
Famous

Yiwu Grand Theater by MAD Architects

for housing the Jakiin Maltheen Amphitheater which sits directly on the Davul Tributary, the smaller Fine Arts and Theater district is also located within, surrounding the entire tributary.
Residency here is difficult to come by as many people seek to live in the district. Most forms of housing are that of low-rise condos that can range anywhere between 1.3 million to 26.8 million Ruvah (650,000 to 13.4 million USD). Those looking for a temporary stay may also find a temporary residence at many renowned hotels.

U'liis Medical Center (UMC)

The U'liis Medical Center is a large collection of hospitals and schools of medicinal research. The center is located immediately north of Greater Deriin Trail and west of Drak'olzul Place. The center is home to 77 medicine related institutions, 30 of which are general hospitals, 10 specialty institutions, 10 academic and research institutions, 9 nursing schools, 5 public health organizations, 4 pharmacy schools, 2 medical schools, and 2 dental schools.
For those looking for a residency, or students in tertiary education, they will pleased to find that the UMC offers both employee and student housing, ranging from mid to high end.

Ii'vrii

Ii'vrii is the largest district in the city, split into 3 smaller districts. Iv'rii was once a municipality, but was annexed into the city of U'liis in the mortal year of 1906.
North Ii'vrii is the oldest and smallest sub-district of Iv'rii. North Ii'vrii is a combination of both residential and commercial. Most businesses located here are usually smaller, or medium sized enterprises that could not buy space in either the Central Business District or the Financial District.
Residences here are usually that of town homes, usually ranging anywhere between 920,000 to 1.2 million Ruvah (460,000 to 600,000 USD). On the higher end of living can be found smaller traditional homes, but are much more expensive and can range between 1.2 million to 2.3 million Ruvah (600,000 to 1.15 million USD).
East Iv'rii is the largest sub-district of Ii'vrii and is mostly a large, upper middle income residential community. Smaller, micro-businesses can be found here, primarily catering to the local community.
Residency is plentiful and for the most part, affordable. Depending on the neighborhood within, each one will be dominated by either town homes or traditional styled housing. Housing here can range from anywhere between 390,000 to 860,000 Ruvah (195,000 to 430,000 USD), There are plentiful apartments, both mid and high end for those looking for those options as well.
Separating East and West Iv'rii is Han'nel Tor'iin Park, a large urban park that is popular with many of Iv'rii's runners and joggers, and contains several community centers.
West Ii'vrii is similar to East Ii'vrii is almost every way, except that West Ii'vrii is considered to be straight middle class. West Ii'vrii also houses the largest number of residents in the city as well as primary and secondary schools. Located in the neighborhood of Jakal, is the Feriin For'sha Stadium, home to the U'liis Kalrol, a league leading football (soccer) team.
