Kaliina Iiusa

This map here? It's not like the one's you'll find anywhere else. Take a look. These here, I've managed to map out most of the tunnel systems around the area. So far I've gotten as far as Taltal. If anyone is going to find the secret way to Giibahu, it's going to be me.
Kaliina Iiusa

It is widely known to the Vraii'jashuk that beneath the desert that is Niil'vrai'kiin Jo'saahish, exists a great network of caves. Navigating these caves, however, is a suicide mission as no one, not even the Vraii'jashuk, have managed to map out the caves. Going there is as good as an idea of navigating the ocean without a supply of oxygen or a proper submarine. Though, this hasn't stopped one brave explorer and adventurer; a young woman that managed to map out even the Manu'viriin Woods. A woman that seeks the thrill of exploring the unknown and the dangers that come with it. After navigating the once thought to be inescapable Deadwoods, Kaliina Iiusa, took it upon herself to navigate and map out the never explored Caves of Gluttony.

The Deadwood Navigator

Kaliina Iiusa rose to popularity when she successfully navigated the Manu'viriin Woods. Once thought to be a forest that once one enters, one can never leave, Kaliina attempted the impossible when she announced to the public of Vala'kol that she would make her attempt. To the dismay of many, the people of Vala'kol tried to persuade Kaliina from the attempt, but their cries fell on deaf ears. On the evening of the 4th of Yuv'renzaal, Kaliina disappeared into the forest. For thirty nine days and nights, the people of Vala'kol of thought Iiusa to have been one of many hundreds of would-be dead Deadwood adventurers.

On the fortieth day, at around noon, the people of Vala'kol were shocked when the young woman appeared at the city gates. When asked how she survived the Deadwood, Kaliina said "my methods are mine own."

Upon her return, Iiusa also brought many new types of foliage and her own works of art depicting the forest. She also wrote about her experiences in the forest, noting that the rumors of the Deadwood were indeed true; the trees moaned as if in agony, and because of it, Iiusa found sleep almost impossible. Interestingly, Kaliina stated that no life outside the foliage was present, even though water and edible plants were abundant. When asked about her final thoughts about the Deadwoods, Kaliina said, "The Deadwood is a rich forest void of life."

Mapping the Impossible

After successfully exploring the Manu'viriin Woods, when Kaliina was asked what her next adventure was, she shocked the people of Vala'kol by announcing she would attempt to map the underground network of caves within Nili'vrai'kiin Jo'saahish. Even thousands of miles from the desert, the people of Vala'kol knew that mapping the underground caverns was another beast deserving of its own league. To Kaliina, however, this would be her mark on not just one zan'val, but on the world. Even amongst the Vraii'jashuk there have been many that attempted this task, and all have failed.    On 19th of Onkii'renzaal, Kaliina was last seen leaving the city of Hosa'alkiish. She was last seen leaving the horizon separating the Hayii'tayiit Range and the Great Niil'vrai'kiin Desert.
I don't care if even the Vraii'jashuk themselves haven't been able to map out the caves. They are all too busy surviving and preserving their culture anyways. Me, I live for this, exploring the unknown reaches of the Realm. The Manu'viriin, they were just a trial run for this. No, for this...this will be my Great Work.

Being that I'm late to Summer Camp, this article may be a bit messy, and is still a heavy WIP.
