Birch
A small town with a population between 2,500 to 3,000. The town is ran by two Lords, Lord Oddman and Lord Thethly. Birch has a very limited number of city guard and recently has fallen on hard times due to this lacking area. Their main import and export road has become a deadend due to a group of renegades controlling the only road. The city sewers have a major rat infestation, and in recent weeks a murderer known locally as "The Backalley Slasher" has been reigning terror on all the young women of the area. The towns main attraction is its large tavern known as "The Smelly Belly Inn". Their main import, although slowed, is salt, which they acquire from the neighboring city of "Sandyside". Birch is not considered a home, but more of a resting place...

Government
Birch maintains its law and local government from two Lords (Lord Oddman and Lord Tethly) and the Sheriff of the town (Sheriff Goody). The sheriff deliberates with the two lords, and than confines to the deputy and small system of guards to maintain order. The tax rate is a measly 5 silver pieces a month, but in the small town of Birch...that can be tough to come by.
Defences
Birch maintains its streets with local guard, mostly longtime inhabitants who grabbed the title "Guard" as a way to secure their place in Birch and reduce their tax rate from 5 silver pieces a month to 3. The total count of guards range from 30+ to 50+ during any one season
Industry & Trade
Birch maintains its walls and small locals by exporting large amounts of salt, which they collect form Sandyside to the neighboring city of Silverymoon.
Infrastructure
Birch does have a small sewer system that runs beneath the city streets and connects to the old Blighttown mine. The sewer follows a 2 mile small non-maintained corridor out to the bay banks of Sandy Shore.
Assets
With less than 50 shops, smiths, arms and equipment, inns and taverns... Birch has very little resources to what would be called value
Guilds and Factions
A group of unidentified men wearing red and black have recently appeared in Birch...their intentions are still unknown
History
Birch started off as a trading post between cities Silverymoon and Sandyside, but over the last 50 years has developed into more of a town than just a post.
Tourism
Little to no tourist come to Birch, mostly just folk trying to pass by one direction or the other. Although some have found hospitality at the Smelly Belly Inn during their stay.
Architecture
Most structures here are made of sun beaten wood and clay, other living quarters appear to be run down or nearly abandoned. There happens to be section of Birch that is so ran down, it has been deemed "The Slums"
Natural Resources
Birch has no natural resources, but draws everything to stay afloat from the neighboring cities
