Evus Ship Hull

Evus Ship Hulls are an experimental form of vessel that harnesses both scientific and Elemental - or at least Magical - methods. Its primary aim is to lift the boat sufficiently over the water as to enable it to be more stable than on the surface and to improve travel speeds. No vessels have been confirmed as having used this technology, though Pékinerdàn Pelonii are rumoured to be developing their own boats with it, so as to more swiftly patrol the waters they claim.

The Origin of the Name

While the concept itself is not new, from The Lost Isles their pioneer was a woman known only as Maervus. Her name means "Love Wind and Water", apparently due to her having been born on an island and preferred being outdoors than in, even during ice storms.   She utilised her name's meaning to call the ship design Evus, a butchering of the Foyiitùn words Aevyen and Ousii. The imagery that is brought to mind are sea-winds - or, in terms of their design, using the wind to levitate the ship above the waters.
