Queen ([kw:i:n])

History

While other cultures may, at various times, have female leaders, only the Queendom of Shevezz has a Queen/Rega by that title. Vimitis Sapifor is in a long line of Queens, a culture shift after the First Destruction where the nation chose to take Queens rather than Kings and favour was given to the youngest female in the family rather than the oldest male. While this was originally happenstance (the first Queen only had one sibling, an older male, who was too sick to serve), successive strong female leaders only encouraged the tradition to be kept up, with alternative roles granted to male siblings.   No division or uprising ever took place over this. In short, Shevezz prides itself on its academic and evidence-based approach to life. The first two Queens were (in theory at least) displaceable, but once the evidence mounted that they had done naught but improve the nation, any male discontent soon became amiable acceptance.
