Description
The first school of magic. Elves learned to use magic in its rawest form shortly after the discovery of magic. Elves being fascinated with nature colored their magic after the elements and the beasts of the world. They seek to use power in harmony with nature and to master it only for the benefit of nature, and the intelligent races of the land. Over time as discoveries were made, the druids specialized. Some druids specialize in the land, specific elements, shapeshifting, among others. Some druids don't specialize but Druids are taught the basics of healing magic, but not to the extent of other schools of magic. There are rumors some use necromancy. The guild vehemently denies this as many outside of this school don't understand it. There are rumors some dabble in lycanthropy. The druids guild doesn't deny or acknowledge this publicly. While highly sought after the school will only accept those who prove to be morally ethical due to the dangers of magic. Druids are not very common. They reject many who would be accepted into other elite schools. While they guard the secrets jealousy, eventually all other races were eligible to be accepted over time (much to Firehearts disappointment). The guild also takes responsibility to learn about plants, animals, and other natural phenomena (including feces). Druids often heal wild animals as well as domestic animals. When a cleric or doctor is not available druids will help anyone in need. Druids are not against using resources to build civilization so long as nature is respected. If balance is not respected a druid will do whatever it takes to restore balance between civilization and nature. This includes helping a farmer to determine why his crops dont grow, or stopping anyone from overdrawing on nature's bounty. Civilizations are in fact seen as a part of nature. Civilizations rise and fall just as animals can naturally go extinct. Most druids eat meat, a select few dont (they do not force their choices on others). Druids are tight knit and speak their own language. They may be viewed as barbarians. Druids are long lived, even if the drud's species is usually short lived. Druids are just as academic as any other magic group. Each group has a leader and will vote to select the next archdruid. The archdruid can be removed by vote if needed.
