Tabaxi

Native to Qinla'Un, the tabaxi were a primitive race that lives in familial groups for many thousands of years on the eastern continent until they were discovered the Yuan-Ti empire. The Yuan-Ti quickly began to enslave and convert them into slaves. Over time, the tabaxi spread out throughout the continent, especially throughout what is now called Akilum's Nest.
Shortly before their major defeat by a group of adventurers, the Yuan-Ti lost control of many of their Tabaxi slaves who escaped and began forming much larger groups to better defend themselves. They spread out all over the world and took on new interests and expanded their knowledge beyond primitive survival techniques.
Since this time, the tabaxi have grown into a well respected species who value knowledge and combat abilities equally. They have a long seated hatred for the Yuan-Ti due to their past enslavement. They consider Akilum's Nest to be their homelands and visiting it is almost a spiritual experience.
