Pasquale and the Troll Bridge

Diplomatic action

After breif encounter with a druidic firbolg tribe, the group heads into the Lichen mountains where they encounter a sasquatch named Pasquale, two Trolls named Crud and Wankwurst, and a traveler named Ripley.

Session 44: Encounter with chill Firbolg druids in Lichen Valley
We come across a small statue of sticks representing a person holding a staff and soon we come across smoke in the sky, under which we find a druidic tribe of firbolgs. Craig, Tom, Helga, Lionel. Druidic Firbolg. Offers us hash which is native to the area to the south of the Lichen Valley. They also give us information about how to forage for edible mushrooms in the Valley. Royal Trumpet, Shitake, etc. We gain a +3 bonus towards foraging for mushrooms. We spend the day chatting away with the firbolgs and Sal shows them the magazine, which they enjoy. We then bed down for the night.

Session 45: Bridge Trolls
On your way across the lichen valley, you all encountered two trolls, Crud and Wankwurst, and a sasquatch, Pasquale, who needed to get back across the mountain to get his lucky rock. In order for safe passage across their bridge, you all had to answer a series of annoying riddles and intrusive personal questions. You all succeeded, even getting a clue to treasure up in the mountain, but Vel decide to give the trolls his deck of many farts in exchange that they stop being dicks, and sort of became friends. After a bit of questioning, you all find Pasquale remembers almost nothing about where he put his rock other than that he placed it on a slimey orb that was kind of high up in the air with some sticks. You all continue on the path regardless, until hearing whistling further up a hill to your left. You all decided to stray off the beaten path up this hill to find Riply, a muscular gladiator who appeared to actually be in search of Pasquale himself believing him to be some kind of mythical being. Upon recognizing the Great Sasquatch of the mountains Riply beseeched you Pasquale for guidance on his quest. You responded to this by handing him a piece of lunchmeat which you had been holding onto. In exchange for this great gift, Ripley lets you all in on the location of the swirly rock you all heard about from the Trolls, and in turn you all guilted him into joining you and leading you to it. After a long hike up largely unmarked hills and mountains, and a perilous journey over a bridge in which Pasquale saved both Tem and subsequently Ripley from falling to their death, you all came across a big swirly rock on a rocky ledge covering a small cave entrance. With Pasquale’s brute strength and Tem’s small form, you all uncover a small chest containing some gold and a small white gem, and decide to bed down for the night.

Session 46: Confrontation with Ripley
Tem identifies the giant stone that they found from the treasure stash which the troll tipped them off to. That night Sal confides in Vel about his traumatic past a bit. After casting a suggestion spell on Ripley to get some privacy, Sal and Ripley get into a confrontation which results in Ripley leaving the group. Vel reconciles with Ripley a bit, even learning that he was previously a well-known gladiator in Oseta and was searching for an answer to his loss of powers. He felt he couldn’t return to his family until he could support them.
