Expedition
The expedition to find E4 continues, with more strange and potentially alarming situations ensueing along the way.
Session 50: The Temverse/Tracking E4
The group confronts Eri regarding her nepharious dealings with Velsharoon and bone horse, and decides to put her on probation, handing the bag of holding to Brogg. Tem identifies Eri’s rusted crown to be contain a faint divine essence leading in a particular direction.
Meanwhile, the group unravels the secrets of the Briciole, the stipulations of their new fleeting knowledge. Tem takes advantage of this new knowledge and visits the Temverse, understanding it to be an exploration of his own mind. He sees his memories and emotions, as well as his fears which appear to him like a dark storm approaching on the horizon. He also finds an ajar door which leads back to reality, but decides to explore more culminating with a flash of genius to use his Bronze Work to channel sending to E4 who appears to possess the same item. Tem also encounters Tem, who wants him to let him out. To Tem’s shagrin, Tem tells him to stay here, and leaves feeling like there’s something wrong with what he just witnessed. Afterwards, with the help of Tem and his Bronze Work, Sal messages E4: “Hi, I’m Sal. Here with Tem, and the CR5. Where are you headed? We want to meet.”
After seven days of travel through the East Nettlewood Forest and over the Lichen Mountains, the group parts with Dan Steel, paying him 21 gp, and the promise of an advert in Sal’s pamphlets. Eri hands him a symbol of Helm, and Sal, 15 signed copies of the Adventures of The Crack Rack 5, as a parting gift, and Dan heads to Thistlespring as a pitstop.
The group continues to travel toward the road to cut-off E4. At their campsite, Sal abruptly turns into an owl spotting two elves traveling toward the party, catches a mouse in his beak, and informs the party. While the group debates what to do with them and Eri’s bone horse, Tem catches one of the travelers in his snare. The two introduce themselves as Galvan and Ysmira of Thistlespring, two elves hunting in the area, and recount a story of how Galvan was imprisoned in Oseta for being implicated in a Human trafficking scheme carried out by "The Pin", a criminal organization. He claims that he was only a low tier operator and wasn't involved in the kidnapping at all. The two speak vaguely of their 121-year long life and of true love.
Before bed Sal hears a reply from E-4, “I’m heading toward Iketa, Wooden Thump Inn. I miss Tem. I’m trapped, I’m trapped, I’m trapped” The group decides to update Detlev but be intentionally vague, stating “He’s heading toward Bruadar-Gwarlek Gap toward Bewylndir.” Detlev replied stating not to engage, but asking for more info. The group bedded down for the night, with mainly Eri and Brogg being harassed the whole night by the twins with inane ramblings and marriage proposals.
Session 51: Interrogation of the Eurnice twins / Vel Strange Metabolism
E4 finds himself once again in the weird grassland area. He tried to open the top drawer after hearing scratching from the inside. It explodes outward.
The rest of the party wakes to the Elven twins talking Brogg's ear off. Galvan accidentally mentions the Qhino-phec forest, to which Ysmira is shocked by, and the two run off. Shortly after, Eri poorly attempts to hide horseradish with a sheet, and gets a sick assist from the Lord of Undeath himself, turning it into a cool noble-looking horse poncho with a green lightning bolt.
While you try and unravel this, Eri realizes that the Qhino-phec forest is in Bewylndir, indicating the twins were lying when they said they’d never been there. Feeling like you’ve all been lied to, you all pursue the twins and surround them. Eri casts circle of truth on them, and you proceed to force them to relive their past trauma. Under duress, they divulge they’re from a sick town by the name of Dexedrine located in the Quino-phec forest where they worked in a morgue and witnessed countless mangled bodies arrive into. Galvan went mad and ran away, and the two lived in the woods until they were forced to return, seeing the town for what it was.
You all press on, deciding to cut off E4. You find a rather weak trail and follow it north east, cutting into the desert a bit, when it strangely starts downpouring. As it grows dark, Vel's physiological anomalies gets the better of him, and he falls from his horse. Half coursing with adrenaline, half passing out. Vel manages to fight through it, largely controlling his physiological response, a strange blue light briefly shining through his veins. Vel recalls the toxic nature of the mutagens, which many can’t tolerate, and that the Order adapt to and control. The question being, is he one of those people.
The party makes camp in a small forest of dead trees, designing a pretty good lean-to to protect them from the rain, and awakens early to cut off E4.
