Anubis

The keeper of The Scales, The Guardian of the Dead, Guardian of Dead Gods

Anubis is the god of Judgement and Burials. It is he who determines where ones soul will go after they pass through The Raven Queen's Crystal city. When the Pharaonic deities traveled to Rūne, Anubis did not begin by seeking followers; However, seeing the ploys of Nihlis, Anubis felt a need to step in and protect people from the machinations of evil undead.
Although all souls must pass through the Shadowfell, it is believed by many planar travelers that Anubis instead chose to build his divine citadel in the Astral Sea, making him one of the very few gods to have their realm there. The purpose of which was to guard the dead powers that still float there, causing Anubis to be known as the "Guardian of Dead Gods".
As he presided over graves, Anubis instantly sensed any sealing or violation of a tomb and any casting of raise dead or similar spells upon the bodies of those who worshiped him. In response, he would occasionally send his Netjer-Tepi or Hound Archons to kill the violators; though much more commonly he would force the trespasser to go on a quest with the purpose of increasing Anubis's power.

• Protect the places where the dead rest.
• Destroy those who use the dead for dark purposes.

Contacts & Relations

Although Anubis and The Raven Queen are close allies, and regularly work together to combat the dark plans of Orcus and Nihlis; they often find themselves at odds with each other when it comes to their views on undead. Where The Raven Queen is against all undead, Anubis does accept undead if the intent in their creation is good.
