Anton
Father Anton was the head of the Hospice of the Hundred Wounds in the village of Barovia. Isolde, knowing his reputation for goodness and believing that The Dark Man would never look for her child with a paladin of Ezra in a hospice of Hala beneath the shadow of Castle Ravenloft, left baby Nicolae on his doorstep. Anton thinks of Nicolae as a son and Rose as a granddaughter.
After a lifetime of service to others, Anton began to feel bitter and resentful, although he tried to deny these feelings. About a year ago, a beautiful young woman named Lucia came to the hospice sick with a terrible fever. Anton healed her, and she was so grateful that she remained at the hospice as an acolyte. Anton began to fall in love with her, and decided that he would renounce his vows and try to court her; Hala requires that her witches and warlocks remain celibate while sworn to her service, but they can choose not to renew their vows at the turn of the seasons. However, to Anton's dismay, Lucia was so taken with the faith of Hala that she swore vows and became a witch herself, ensuring that she would remain celibate whether Anton renewed his vows or not. At that time, the Dark Man approached him, preying on his bitterness and sense of entitlement until Anton decided to pursue Lucia whether she reciprocated his affections or not. A panicked Lucia fled from him into the night and was devoured by wolves, at which point the Dark Man taught Anton how to bind her brain and heart in a construct body.
You managed to convince Anton to leave the hospice and to try to let go of Lucia, although you don't know how successful he's been. Before your last conversation with him, he had cast inflict wounds on some wolves, suggesting that he'd fully embraced evil and was channeling negative energy instead of positive energy now. However, he was clearly ashamed of his actions and asked you not to tell Nicolae about them.
Anton has a one-way psychic connection to Lucia; he can't hear her thoughts, but she used to be able to hear every one of his, and it was literally driving her mad.
