D&D Cosmology for Dummies
General Summary
Doing a shorter summary than usual because Book Club of Dread is being obnoxious.
Vanya went to Corin Ghent, a wizard, and showed him the hide shirt. Ghent confirmed that the shirt would grant total freedom and autonomy to its wearer, but only if that wearer were the king of *cough cough domain name.* Ghent also said that there was a curse on the shirt, but he was having trouble discerning exactly what it was because cursed items have a ihigher spellcraft DC are so notoriously tricky. It had something to do with the king's madness or lingering spirit or something, and there was some enchantment and transmutation in it. You decided that since one copy of the book of names was in Castle Avernus (per Madam Eva's reading to Vanya ), this kind of powerful unique magic item might be enough to get you in the door. You also wondered whether Azalin might be able to disentangle the magic on the shirt so the wearer could reap the benefits without being king.
Rose went and talked to her new megaloceros buddy. He was huge and had some air elemental qualities because a wizard had experimented on him, but he escaped. He was lonely because he no longer fit in with any of the other elk and hoped that traveling with Rose would help him find a new home.
Carnival arrived, and Vanya told Isolde everythng the Gentleman Caller had told him (The Attack of Evil Sexy Rose ). Isolde tried to explain the basics of D&D cosmology to you, including the analogy that Ravenloft was a pit and Julien had wings and could fly someone out. She was seething at the thought that the Caller could escape and get beyond her reach while leaving her behind to rot, but admitted that she didn't know for sure that he would hurt Julien by doing so. Vanya wasn't sold by the idea that the Gentleman Caller could hurt a lot more people in the wider multiverse than he could in Ravenloft. One of you (I don't remember which) asked if Julien could take Isolde out instead of the Gentleman Caller, and she said that she had abandoned her post by following him here and could never leave. Rose asked if Julien could take Vanya out instead and get him out of the Caller's reach, which you all though had potential.
You agreed that Julien needed to talk to Isolde to decide for himself what he wanted to do, and you knew that it might be difficult for him because it could involve uncovering some of the memories rom looking into the Abyss.
I think that's it? My mind is a morass of Audacity file crashes.
