Courier Alyss Mainwaring
Physical Description
Body Features
She was tall and graceful.
Facial Features
Often considered beautiful, though she was also noted to be solemn-looking. She had grey eyes, a straight nose, full mouth, and firm chin. Her voice was low-pitched yet feminine, and she spoke in a quiet, level voice. She had straight, shoulder-length ash blonde hair and fair skin.
Specialized Equipment
Diplomat - Alyss was a natural diplomat, taking after her mentor, Lady Pauline.
Linguist - as a linguist Alyss was quite versatile, knowing Gallican and Nihon-Jan.
Fighting - Alyss was reasonably talented as a fighter, though not exactly amazing. She carried a dagger and was quite good at fighting with her saber, being quite coordinated with her strikes and parries. She could also use lightweight javelins and was able to defend herself in mild forms of unarmed combat.
Disguise - Alyss was excellent at assuming disguises, first shown in The Sorcerer in the North where she becomes Lady Gwendolyn, copying her mannerisms. She demonstrated this again in Nihon-Ja, dying her skin a darker color and coloring her hair black so that she blended in with the locals better. She pretended to be an old woman named Hilde who works in the Roamers camp and the disguise was so good that even Will was astonished.
