Lintague Session 2

General Summary

Jasper Wathustret, Marie, and Amelia Dupont start in Lintague's Listing Wisp Tavern the day after rescuing Phoebe. They decide to do some shopping in Nicoletta Levron's shop. Then they want to find out more about Captain Stancliff Preston. They visit the home of Olga Babineaux the town elder, who has a large book collection. They ask her about Captain Preston and as she is showing them to the books on him they see a painting on the wall that looks like the misty figure they saw in the labyrinth. Olga notices them eyeing the painting tells them that the painting is of Lucien Henry, an ancient Maji. She remarks on his resemblance to Jasper. She then shows them a book that tells about Captain Preston and Lucien. They learn that Captain Preston was a Maji and a naval captain in the Emperor’s navy. He was also a friend to Lucien Henry. There is some speculation that he was also a smuggler and pirate on the side, and he had a reputation for hiding treasure. Lucien Henry was also a Maji and a soldier in the emperor’s army. After The Fall of the Maji, he taught people to bind MajiMonsters in the Lintague-Pearlwich area. Before they leave Olga gives them a Book of Ruins that she thinks may be of interest to them. She also asks them to check with Jakoby Ford because he has been having trouble with some MajiMonsters around town.
In the book of ruins they find that the nearest ruin is a ruined tower. Only the floor and the barest hint of walls remain of it. They decide to investigate the ruins. Before they set sail on the river the dock master, Giles Merser calls out to them. He asks them if they have seen Mayo Sauz. They haven’t. He gives them A Letter for Mayo that came in for him and asks them to give it to him if they see him. They read the letter then set sail for the tower. They see 2 Owl-o-gators and 1 Wailing Willow in the distance and decide to disembark to try to catch them. They catch some and defeat the rest. They then continue the rest of the way to the tower.
Upon arriving at the tower they see some MajiMonsters at the base of the tower. Here Mayo reveals himself to have been sleeping in the hold of the boat the whole time. They notice that there appears to be a hole in the ground where the book shows the floor of the tower. Mayo knows that the MajiMonsters around the tower are Sporetan. There are 4 Sporetan initially but as the battle goes on more keep spawning from the depths of the tower. Eventually Marie decides to see what is in the hole. She sees a crystal glowing as if it is magical. She decides to jump down and see if she can break it. While she is down there she can definitely see that the crystal is spawning the Sporetan. Eventually the players break the crystal spawning the Sporetan and defeat all the remaining Sporetan. Marie investigates one floor down from where the crystal is and finds a skeleton, a Journal of an Ancient Maji, an apothecary kit, and 24 Imperials. The journal mentions some Maji trying to get to Muscaria and save their library of magical tomes. Marie knows that there are some magical books at Muscaria but not a whole libraries worth. She suspects that the rest may have gotten lost somewhere along the way. Everyone thinks it may be interesting to try to find these tomes but before going on the journey they decide to go back to Lintague to stock up and prepare. Everyone receives 5xp.
