Arborist (ˈɑrbərɪst)

Introduction

This profession based around the care, maintenance, and study of trees, shrubs, vines, and other perennial woody plants can be dangerous on some realms or absolutely pointless on others. Most arborists across the Cosmos can be placed in one of three major groups. The first being natural arborists that deal with normal plants, primal arborists that handle often dangerous Primal infused plants, or exoteric arborists that handle tree-like plants that invade from other Realms.

Notable Realmic Arborists

Auctus

On the Realm of Growth, being an arborist is an essential but dangerous job. Most of the arborist's time is spent helping trees grow in a manner that is beneficial to local societies or ecologies. Many trees are often hostile to such suggestions or simply do not consider the arborist anything more than a parasite.
As for primal arborists on the realm, the ancient, ever-growing trees pulsate with Primal Life just begging to be harvested. When extracted into a type of Primal Sap, it can be hardened to create highly magical artifacts or consumed for quick bursts of Primal Life.

Caligus

On the Realm of Remembrance, each "continent" has different tasks required of their arborists. On Adurvech, primal arborists spend their days ensuring the Muddlewards are fueled with Primal Life extracted from the ancient trees.
While across the way, on the continent of Lumair, natural arborists focus on cultivating specific bioluminescent flora to help ward off the Muddle.

Hallus

Before the SunFade, exoteric arborists spent generations mastering the process of summoning, growing, and collecting flora from other realms in search of new replacement fuels for the Coal-hungry industry. After the SunFade, many of these collections were destroyed by natural events or burned by desperate souls just trying to stay warm. With no real trees left across most of the realm, this once-respected profession was quickly forgotten.
