Xanthan Kane is a former Azorious investigator and recent recruit to the Office of the Guildpact. He is a third generation detective and has been working cases with his father since he was a young boy. He is obsessed with perfection on a case. Although he is new to the force in an official capacity, his family experience makes him act grizzled beyond his years.
History
His family have been detectives on Ravnica going back 4 generations. His father, Guar, was in the Azorius Senate Major Crimes unit. He worked undercover vice, narcotics, homicide. Guar did some undercover work where he was embedded in House Dimir. He went missing on assignment and was never seen or heard from again. Maybe his cover was blown and he was assassinated, maybe he went dark and joined House Dimir. Xanthan's mother, Zee, was also a detective. After Guar went missing, she spent her years investigating his disappearance. The unsolved case still haunts her to this day. Xanthan doesn't know what happened to his father, but he's determined to find out. Xanthan had a rival at the Academy named Alquist Proft. He got Sherlock-stlye famous. His success and fame kind of pisses Xanthan off.
