Irasil
Irasil, also known as Lady Fire Hair, is the deity of beauty, with governance also over love. Her dogma primarily concerns love based on beauty inside and out and that the people of Winval should learn to appreciate all beauty in this fleeting life and indulge in sensory pleasures spreading love and enjoyment with all you meet. Many who value appearance and are concerned with their own looks often pray to Irasil to achieve unattainable beauty. Her symbol is that of a beautiful woman with flowing red hair.
Holy Books & Codes
"Life is for loving. Our time in this world is fleeting and so should be spent making the most of all sensory pleasures and indulgences the world has to offer. Find joy in all aspects of life from beholding the beauty of flowers to creating masterpieces of art to finding another being to love in this life. Beauty is a god given gift we should appreciate and revere, those who possess it are the blessed. Love one and other in this life, there is no use for hate or vengeance in this world, they will only bring suffering and no gratification can be achieved through them. Love is the purest and most powerful aspect of life."
Tenets of Faith
Irasil's highest priest is known as the Heartwarder, usually being the most handsome/beautiful clergy member both inside and out. They are expected to keep their appearance as flattering as possible and shower others with sweet words at least five times a month. Her clerics seek to bring beauty to the world in many forms, all of which are pleasing to the senses. They create great works of art, become patrons for promising actors, and import exotic luxuries like satin and fine wines. Her followers also enjoy looking beautiful, and hearing tales of romance. The stories range from star-crossed love, true love overcoming all else, to following one's heart.
Her temples usually hold social salons and display mirrors for use by lay parishioners. Some of them even have public baths for the local populace. Her shrines often stand on the corner of busy city streets. They usually have a small ornate overhanging roof with a mirror underneath. They are used to check one's appearance while honouring Irasil with prayer. Some shrines even hold perfume and cosmetic items for those who cannot afford such luxuries themselves.
Because Irasil values love and encourages people to find others to share those pleasures with in this life as all enjoyments can be enjoyed more when spent with someone else who you value, clerics of Irasil often officiate weddings and will host them in their churches for any couples who love each other unconditionally, regardless of race, religion, class or economic background.
