Ovvels
Ovvels is a town in the Quadling Country.
Ovvels is a village of treehouses set up as a network of cabanas built hanging in the rubbery limbs of suppletrees, supporting small huts from which walkways were slung. Every roof was palmettoed and every window was netted with gauzlin. Bellow were the salty, humid marshes and swamps of flooded groves, causing the streets to be silted with mud.
The town is surrounded by an approximately twenty-four feet high wall defensive rampart made of granite. On the outer side of the wall, there are painted illustrations of huge, gold and blue glowing fish pictured ingesting each other.
It is here where Elphaba, Nessarose, and Shell were raised due to their parents' Unionist missionary work, even though they were natives of Munchkinland. The time the Thropps resided in Ovvels is now considered local lore to the natives. Even though they were disgusted with the missionaries trying to educate them and covert them to Unionism, the Quadling’s never forgot the green-skinned Elphaba. They believed her singing helped the harvest.
