Central Great Plain

Geography

The Central Great Plain is a massive geological region of plains, grassland, and prairie in western Appalachia, located in the similarly named Great Plains region. It stretches across much of Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, and parts of Wisconsin, covering from the glacial line down to the southern coast with sparse areas of forest, groves, and coastal forest.   For the most part, the Central Plain is quite flat and clear, promoting the growth of expansive grasslands and prairies with very little in the way of trees or large shrubs.
