Godsfall
History
The Godsfall is a tradition of unknown origin having started with mortals, under the idea that it is disrespectful to newly fledged gods to continue the worship, acknowledgement, and representation of their predecessors. In the past, this manifested that upon the death of a god, all worship of them would stop aside from any funerary rites held for the fallen god as a last offering, but in the modern day, has changed to that on the death of a god, all mention of them, all images, and records of their name is erased entirely, and those who continue to use their image or worship them are heavily shunned. Although the practice did not start among the gods, many of the minor gods themselves adhere to the tradition and having become a norm, created the tradition among the gods of wearing parts of fallen gods' pelts to continue honoring them and keep their image alive through their own adornments.
In complete defiance to this global tradition, the Republic of Shanai stands in stark refusal to retire the image and iconography of Fire God Vega since his passing, and is seemingly supported by his daughter and successor, Maka, God of Fire.
