Traveling Exhibit Wing
Purpose / Function
The Traveling Exhibit Wing is a large section of the museum dedicated almost entirely to displays, exhibits, and artifacts on loan from other organizations for display. These are rotated out anywhere from every couple of weeks to every couple of years, depending on the circumstances of the loan to the Nottingham Museum. Most loaned artifacts are due to temporary trades with universities and other educational facilities, although some may be for the continued display and storage of artifacts during other museum's renovations, such as after the Sacramento Archaeology Museum's renovations following the 19992 earthquake, in which the Nottingham Museum obtained many large fossils for display during the 6 years it took to rebuild Sacramento's facilities.
There often is not a set theme to the artifacts displayed in this wing
