Within the The Fire Islands , where Lava belches forth into rivers and lakes and most fear to tread, there is a Castle of Obsidian and Basalt and within Reigns King Coalbeard, Lord of the Fire-Giants.
Coalbeard has ruled the giants for decades, having ascended to his position by brutal combat against his older brother who previous held the position in the wake of their fathers death. He comes from a long line of Kings, and yet his lineage is less important to him than his deeds. He, like his forbears, desires to reclaim the Giant kingdom which was lost centuries ago.
To this end he marshal his warriors hard; tries to build the clan, and garner slaves that may better serve to make them a true military power. Their isolation in the Fire Islands limits, to a degree, his ambition, but he had times and cunning on his side. Soon enough he will claim some human land beneath his heel, and start to rebuild a true empire of the Giants.
