The Last Drop ale house

The Last Drop ale house is a bar and restaurant combination in Oranjestad on St. Eustatius. The name might have you think that is is a play on the served drinks, but it actually refers to the hangings that used to be done from the gallows on the square where the Last Drop is located.

The Last Drop is famous among visiting sailors, as it is open 24 hours a day all year round. And has a wide selection of available drinks, from the common juices to the most exotic alcoholic beverage. But it just as happy to serve tea, coffee or even milk if the customer likes that.

Besides the drinks, the Last Drop also serves a well regarded variety of foods. Excelling at dishes which incorporate fish caught by the local fishing boats.

The Last Drop is located in a big three story building, with a large common room with small tables and a bar on the ground floor, a big terras in the back, filled with tables, shielded from the neighbouring plots and shade is provided with over head growing vines. On the first floor there is more private arrangements, tables, seperated in by screens from one and other. In the front there are high opening windows with balconettes viewing the square. And on the back there is a full balcony overlooking the teras. The second floor can be made private and can be arranged on guests requests, to a ballroom, a bar and dancing, group dining. Whatever they like.

Hotel

From the ground floor of the Last Drop there is a passage to the neighbouring hotel Koning Willem which is owned by the same owner. The hotel also has its own streetside access. It's a small place, only two stories. with rooms on the ground and first floor. Rooms have either a double or two beds. Not luxurious, but well kept and clean. Also there has been made adequate sound insulation between the Last Drop and the hotel.

I like that its name is a reference to the hangings. The reviews on the side are fun.
