Lady Sarnelle Appney-Scart

Sarnelle Scart was born in Gelze to Desius Scart, a distant cousin of the Anttanican Emperor, and Doni Suro, a wealthy property developer with a Jizin grandparent. Sarnelle was raised as part of the Anttanican aristocracy in Modi; this caused some tension in her life because of Anttanica's occupation of her home country. She was briefly engaged to the King of Modi, but his advisors talked him out of the marriage. At the age of sixty-two, she married Lord Killenn Appney.
Although Sarnelle was never expected to work, she took over her mother's business upon becoming of age and bought up enough undeveloped land on the edge of Modi-Mado City to build an entire new district--and did so. To everyone's surprise, she then gifted the entire business to her childhood friend Emcerella Doming, who proceeded to run it successfully until retirement age. Sarnelle went to university and studied physics, before developing and patenting a new form of energy production.
She became involved with a high-ranking civil servant in the Modi government, but rejected his proposal because he had a lower social status. However they had a son together, who was raised by his father.
Sarnelle underwent multiple cosmetic surgery operations over the course of nearly ten years, most of which were focused on eradicating the Jizin traits she had inherited from her great-grandfather, bringing her body into line with her culture's beauty ideals.
