Tempus House

Tempus House? Really? Bit of an obvious name, don't you think?

  • Tempus House is the headquarters of the Victorian branch of the Guild of Time Displaced. The Guild was initially an unofficial group of time-travellers who had become stranded after the destruction of their time machines, who wanted to help each other get settled in the period, and with the faint hope of building a new time machine from what remained. However when founder Xarre Carivell discovered Odessa Beaufort's efforts to sabotage history, the Guild took the new main purpose of stopping her. As such, Tempus House went from a place of refuge to a tactical headquarters.   Prior to its occupation by the Guild, Tempus House was an abandoned terraced London mansion. Xarre Carivell had it renovated for purpose. The finished building includes: a conference room; six science labs; large kitchen and pantry; cells in which to keep any captured time-saboteurs; plus basic accommodation for any Guild members who need it.   It also contains various storage rooms, secured by methods that blend in with the time period aesthetically but hide more futuristic designs. Typical use of the storage rooms include weapons, teleportation devices, other gadgets, clothes and other materials required for disguises, and essential supplies not typically found in Victorian London (especially for alien and Zartriite members of the Guild). The Guild's various gadgets, like the storage rooms, are made to not look too out of place, despite using far more contemporary technology. At the back of Tempus House is a walled garden and conservatory, where members of the Guild grow things to store, such as alien produce.
