The Book of Fates

"Look... most think the deck is legend already. If you take the deck, make sure you have the book too. Don't ask me why... Just read it before you draw a card. "

Mechanics & Inner Workings

As you open the book, you note the title page is signed in the pen of the Church of the Mending God. The next page reveals a note left by the church. It reads:
"To those who follow in our footsteps in ownership of the holy Deck of Fate, we ask you take this book, and protect it as you would the deck itself. We were bestowed the deck, and knowledge of how many fates it would bring to this world. Alas, our God chose to withhold what one hundred fates were to be bestowed upon us. We plea to you, if you do take fate into your own hand, record what was left on the holy cards. We may fade from this world, but we pray that our future generations may know of all our Lord's gifts. -The Church of the Mending God"
The rest of the book is divided in two sections. The first is dedicated to one hundred entries, most left blank, but some have been written in. The second section is dedicated to what seems to be a timeline dedicated who has owned both the book and desk.
The Holy Fates
I - The Magician
I felt a swelling of power... yet I have no idea what it could be. I'll have to inquire into at another time. -Tigs
II - The High Priestess
A minor priestess drew this card. She spoke of hearing the divine voice of Lady Tavara. She asked out 'What is my fate?' We heard nothing, but from the tears in her eyes, I can't help but feel the answer was most horrid. That night, we found her at the end of a noose made from her own holy robes. - Sister Covvis, Sisters of the Kin

IV - The Emperor
At first, nothing happened. A day later, a squire came to my private estate. He handed me a royal title saying I was the legal owner of a small keep south of Hammer's Forge. Odd, as I believe that particular keep is under the leadership of my brother. - Even Beloi, Nobel of house Beloi

So... Not sure if this is related... but I was out hunting when I found the cards. I drew one then, and it said "The tower". Nothing's happened. Fuck this deck! Look, I have no idea what the fuck happened but I think the deck's the reason I'm now wanted for defeathering the entire town's chickens! -Brooker

To whoever reads this, I apologize for my experiments taking this turn! Hopefully this book will survive. I'm locking it in a chest, and tossing it into the sea. Hopefully the current will carry it far from this stupid island. I'm headed to Brit, as it's the closest landmass to Nearn. Wish me luck. - Ever-Breeze

XXIX - Fate
I... felt compelled to think though my life, to all my mistakes and all my misdoings. I have no idea why... but my mind rested on my cat, Smoky. I never spent enough time with her. That night, I awoke in my bed to find my little girl on my chest, purring contently. Truly, this is a blessed deck. -Silverwind

I may be misinterpreting my misfortune, but when returning from my laboratory, my key snapped inside of the doorlock. It took two hours and a broken window just to get inside to write this down. -Silverwind

XLVII - Lightning Bolt
This one is quite curious. The card, despite rumor, did not burn. I held it for a minute, and nothing. It looked nice, what with the symbolism of lightning and all. It wasn't until about a month later that I found the display case I kept that card in had apparently exploded. I wasn't home at the time, but I'm quite happy I didn't leave the card in my pocket. - Even Beloi, Nobel of house Beloi

D-1022 drew a card from the deck, and it was labeled with the word "Freedom". Note, D-1022's crimes included, but was not limited to, . D-1022 was terminated after test. - Researcher [Expounded]

So... a commoner has been following me for some days now. I've had my guards detain him, but he simply will not give up. One report claims
he tried to break his own arm off to fit though the cell bars. Strange that. - Even Beloi, Nobel of house Beloi
