House di Silva came to prominence when the founder of their house invented a smokeless fuel for use in forges. The pattent on this inventions still brings in wealth to this day. The di Silva family still sponsor inventors and is a major patron of the Republican Academy . Their last invention was the copper sheathing of ships. They are known for somewhat lacks standards in their workshops though. Explosions can often be heard from them. Even from workshops that have nothing to do with explosives.
