Solace

Solace is a planet far from Renedge (in an entirely different material plane, in fact) that is best known as the former home of the Necrosis Corporation, Necrosa's foundation of power. Some time ago, much of the planet's surface was bombarded into ash in an attempt to kill her for good, but the attempt failed; while the corporation is believed to be dissolved, Necrosa is still active and at large, and there are hints that her minions are beginning to reform her organization.
As for Solace, despite the widespread destruction, the many remaining corporations based on the planet are still chugging along, fighting each other for customers and scraps. Magic is strong on Solace, and the richest surviving places are far richer than most of Renedge can boast. While the highs are high, however, the lows are similarly low. The unfortunate denizens of the base of the Spire, for instance, face poverty, gangs of ratman brigands, flamethrower-wielding "cleansers", and all manner of strange and deadly monstrosities. And even in the extravagant upper levels, one always must keep an eye out for a knife in the back...
